Camelback Mountain

Welcome to camelback mountain, phoenix and scottsdale's premier hiking destination!

Trail Information

Camelback Mountain Hiking Information

Welcome! Camelback Mountain is a pinnacle of Phoenician lifestyle and culture! Named for its striking resemblance to the head and humps of a resting camel, the mountain provides endless challenge, escape and aesthetic champion to natives and visitors alike. Climbing to the top of Camelback Mountain reveals a 360-view of the valley's mountain-led perimeter and the various Phoenix and Scottsdale neighborhoods that exist north, east, south and west of the base.

While the south, Arcadia-facing side of the camel is home to residential properties and beautiful walking trails. The north, Paradise Valley-facing side is home to two well-traversed and separately challenging trailheads to the top. Along the way to the top, dozens of Hohokam caves and intermediate free-climbing rocks line the Echo Canyon Trail.
